Is Hydrogen Affordable?

Hydrogen is widely seen as a key solution for decarbonising energy systems, industry and transport. However, one of the most common questions is whether hydrogen—especially renewable (green) hydrogen—is currently affordable.

What Are Hydrogen Valleys?

Hydrogen is gaining increasing attention as a clean energy carrier, but its full potential can only be realised when production, infrastructure and end-use applications are connected. This is where the concept of Hydrogen Valleys comes in.

Does Hydrogen Replace Electricity or Batteries?

Hydrogen is often discussed as a key technology for the future of clean energy. However, it is important to understand that hydrogen does not replace electricity or batteries. Instead, it complements electrification and helps expand the range of solutions available for decarbonising different sectors.

What Is Renewable (Green) Hydrogen?

Hydrogen is increasingly recognised as a key component of the future energy system. Among the different types of hydrogen, renewable hydrogen – often referred to as green hydrogen – is considered the most environmentally sustainable option.

What is Hydrogen and Why Is It Important for the Energy Transition?

Hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant element in the universe. It has the chemical symbol H and atomic number 1, making it the simplest element in the periodic table. Despite its simplicity, hydrogen plays a fundamental role in many natural processes and is considered one of the key building blocks of matter.

Meet Our Partner: Hydrogen Architects (H2A)

Hydrogen Architects (H2A) participates in EASTGATEH2V as an expert partner with experience from European Hydrogen Valleys.
They are part of the Deployment Advisory Group (DAG), a group supporting the preparation and safe deployment of the hydrogen ecosystem.
• They bring practical know-how from designing and delivering Hydrogen Valleys.
Together with other partners, they help identify risks and propose solutions before operations begin.
They support the integration of sites and technologies into one coherent system.
They contribute to making the Hydrogen Valley concept transferable to other European regions.
Their role is to help ensure that EASTGATEH2V is well prepared, safe and scalable.

Meet Our Partner: Aragón Hydrogen Foundation – Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón (FHA) (ES)

Aragón Hydrogen Foundation (FHA) is a non-profit organisation based in the Aragón region of Spain, dedicated to promoting hydrogen as a key energy vector for the energy transition. Established in 2003 with the support of regional authorities, industry and research actors, FHA has become one of Europe’s most experienced institutions in the development, testing and deployment of hydrogen technologies.
