EASTGATEH2V in 2025: Laying the Foundations for Slovakia’s First Hydrogen Valley
The year 2025 marked the preparation and start-up phase of the EASTGATEH2V project, laying the foundations for Slovakia’s first Hydrogen Valley in the Košice region. During this phase, project partners focused on technical planning, permitting processes and detailed design for hydrogen production, distribution and deployment sites. This work ensures that future infrastructure will be safe, efficient and ready for long-term operation.

Building the Foundations of Slovakia’s First Hydrogen Valley
The EASTGATEH2V project continues to move forward as partners work together to build the foundations of Slovakia’s first fully integrated Hydrogen Valley in the Košice region. Over recent months, the consortium has focused on strengthening cooperation, refining technical concepts and aligning activities across production, mobility, industry and public engagement.

A New Chapter for Hydrogen in Slovakia: EASTGATEH2V at H2SK FORUM 2025
Hydrogen is no longer a vision of the future — it’s the energy of today.
And Slovakia has made it clear that it wants to be part of this change.
On October 21, 2025, Bratislava hosted the first edition of H2SK FORUM, a national and international conference dedicated to developing the hydrogen ecosystem beyond 2030.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the National Hydrogen Association of Slovakia (NVAS), with EASTGATEH2V proudly joining as a project partner.
More than 150 experts from industry, academia, municipalities, and public administration met to discuss how Slovakia can strengthen its position in Europe’s clean energy transition.

On October 21, 2025, the H2SK FORUM 2025 will take place at NH Gate One Hotel, Bratislava — the first Slovak conference dedicated to developing the hydrogen ecosystem beyond 2030.

As the first Hydrogen Valley in Slovakia, we see it as our natural responsibility to foster cooperation with experts and follow the latest energy trends. That’s why we joined the stakeholder roundtable held in Bratislava on 12 September 2025. The event was organized by the Slovak Construction Entrepreneurs Association as part of the BungEES (LIFE) project.
