The role of U. S. Steel Košice in the EASTGATEH2V project
U. S. Steel Košice participates as a major industrial partner, enabling the project to test hydrogen applications in highly energy-intensive steelmaking. This provides valuable real-world data and insights from industrial operations.
U. S. Steel Košice will:
- act as an industrial hydrogen off-taker,
- receive hydrogen deliveries by trailers using MEGC containers,
- test the feasibility of hydrogen use in steelmaking processes,
- provide data for analyses focused on emission reduction and hydrogen integration into industry.
Through this cooperation, the Košice Hydrogen Valley becomes connected with heavy industry, which is essential for its long-term development and impact.
