HyEnergy® is an independent UK-based consultancy specialising in hydrogen and energy communities, with more than 50 years of combined experience across the global hydrogen and renewable energy sectors. Founded in 2014, the company was established to address the need for a commercially focused and practical approach to hydrogen project development.
HyEnergy® provides independent expert guidance across the entire hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, distribution and end use in transport, industry and energy systems. Its core objective is to ensure that hydrogen systems and technologies achieve real-world deployment, are cost-effective, and can compete with conventional fossil-based solutions.
The company has extensive experience in European research and innovation programmes and has played a significant role in the development of several pioneering Hydrogen Valley initiatives. HyEnergy® contributed to the preparation and successful funding of HEAVENN, the world’s first Hydrogen Valley, Green Hysland in Mallorca, and SH2AMROCK, Ireland’s first Hydrogen Valley.
Role of HyEnergy® in the EASTGATEH2V project
Within EASTGATEH2V, HyEnergy® participates as an expert partner, bringing practical know-how from the design and implementation of Hydrogen Valleys across Europe.
In the project, HyEnergy®:
- supports strategic planning of the Hydrogen Valley based on experience from established European initiatives,
- contributes to the development of an integrated hydrogen ecosystem covering production, infrastructure and end-use,
- supports the creation of realistic business and operational models for hydrogen solutions,
- strengthens the cross-border dimension of cooperation and the transfer of proven approaches between regions.
The involvement of HyEnergy® enhances the feasibility, scalability and long-term sustainability of the EASTGATEH2V project.
Contribution to the Hydrogen Valley
HyEnergy® brings a unique combination of technical, strategic and commercial expertise, supporting the transition from concept to implementation. Drawing on experience from multiple European Hydrogen Valleys, the company helps ensure that the Košice Hydrogen Valley is functional, economically viable and future-proof.
Through its contribution, HyEnergy® supports the positioning of EASTGATEH2V as a credible and replicable Hydrogen Valley model for other regions in Central and Eastern Europe.
