On 3–4 June 2026, Košice will host H2SK FORUM, an international conference dedicated to the future of hydrogen development in Slovakia and across Europe.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the Košice Self-Governing Region and the Slovak National Hydrogen Association.
Hosted at Boutique Hotel Slávia in Košice, the conference will bring together Slovak and international stakeholders from across the hydrogen ecosystem, including public authorities, industry representatives, researchers, project developers and infrastructure experts.
Focus on Hydrogen Valleys and European cooperation
The first day of the conference will provide an overview of the current development of European Hydrogen Valleys and large-scale hydrogen initiatives across Europe.
The programme will also feature the EASTGATEH2V project, one of the most ambitious hydrogen valley initiatives in the Central European region. The project aims to support the development of an integrated hydrogen ecosystem in eastern Slovakia through renewable hydrogen production and its deployment across multiple sectors.
The event will also welcome Valerie BOULION-DELPORTE, Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
Discussions throughout the first day will focus on:
- development of Hydrogen Valleys,
- hydrogen infrastructure and pipelines,
- financing opportunities,
- implementation experiences,
- and future cooperation across Europe.
Perspectives beyond 2030
The second conference day will focus on the current state of the hydrogen ecosystem in Slovakia and Europe, as well as future perspectives beyond 2030.
Participants will discuss:
- international cooperation opportunities,
- collaboration with South Korea,
- future financing mechanisms,
- the European Commission Hydrogen Mechanism,
- and the Slovak Hydrogen Action Plan 2030 prepared by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
The programme will also include examples of good practice from Slovakia and abroad, showcasing practical implementation of hydrogen technologies and ecosystem development.
Strengthening the hydrogen ecosystem in Central Europe
H2SK FORUM represents an important platform for connecting stakeholders across policy, research, industry and regional development.
The conference highlights the growing importance of renewable hydrogen within the European energy transition and the increasing role of Hydrogen Valleys in supporting decarbonisation, innovation and regional cooperation.
