Hydrogen is becoming a key pillar of clean energy — and Slovakia is entering a new era of innovation. EASTGATEH2V will be part of this journey.
On October 21, 2025, the H2SK FORUM 2025 will take place at NH Gate One Hotel, Bratislava — the first Slovak conference dedicated to developing the hydrogen ecosystem beyond 2030.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the National Hydrogen Association of Slovakia (NVAS) as an expert platform bringing together industry, research, municipalities, and international partners.
The forum’s goal is to find joint solutions for advancing hydrogen technologies and strengthening Slovakia’s position within Europe’s energy transition.
A Program Connecting Vision with Practice
- Block – Keynotes and Opening Speeches
The opening session will highlight cooperation between the state, industry, and European partners.
Speakers include:
- JUDr. Szabolcs Hodosy (State Secretary, Ministry of Economy SR)
- Jorgo Chatzimarkakis (CEO, Hydrogen Europe)
- Valérie Bouillon-Delporte (CEO, Clean Hydrogen Partnership)
The first block will focus on industrial decarbonization and the use of RFNBO fuels (renewable fuels of non-biological origin) by leading Slovak companies — Slovnaft and Duslo.
- Block – Long-term Development Plan for Slovakia’s Hydrogen Ecosystem
The Ministry of Economy SR and NVAS will present the national hydrogen strategy and production scenarios up to 2050.
A panel discussion titled “Quadruple Helix” will follow — uniting representatives from public administration, academia, business, and civil society, the four pillars shaping the future of energy.
- Block – International Perspectives: V4 + Ukraine
Representatives of national hydrogen associations from Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia will share their strategies, goals, and forms of support.
This session will demonstrate how regional cooperation across Central Europe can accelerate hydrogen innovation and implementation.
- Block – Best Practices and Innovation
The final section will spotlight innovation and real-world hydrogen applications.
Among the TOP hydrogen projects, the EASTGATEH2V Hydrogen Valley will be presented by Katarína Sasaráková from the Košice Self-Governing Region – the project coordinator.
Alongside other inspiring speakers, such as Vodohospodárska výstavba (H₂ Project Gabčíkovo), this session will show how hydrogen solutions are transforming energy, transport, and regional development in practice.
EASTGATEH2V: The Slovak Path to Clean Energy
As the first hydrogen valley in Slovakia, the EASTGATEH2V project proves that collaboration between science, industry, and local governments can reshape the nation’s energy landscape.
Hydrogen from renewable energy sources acts as a bridge between green production and modern infrastructure — and the Košice Region is ready to become its central hub.
