EASTGATEH2V connects green hydrogen production, mobility and industry across the Košice region — building a clean and innovative future.
The Košice region is home to Slovakia’s first Hydrogen Valley — bringing together clean hydrogen production, transport and industry to support regional growth, energy independence and a greener future.
EASTGATEH2V is part of a major European initiative — the Central European Hydrogen Corridor — which will bring renewable hydrogen from Ukraine, through Slovakia and the Czech Republic, all the way to Germany.
EASTGATEH2V helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels, boosts energy security, and shows how hydrogen technologies can support cleaner air, a stronger economy in Eastern Slovakia and the wider European region.
EASTGATEH2V also contributes to Europe’s energy transition by fostering cross-border hydrogen infrastructure, regional decarbonisation, and diversification of clean energy sources.
4 MW of Electrolyser Capacity (2 MW Alkaline + 2 MW PEM) — combining two key hydrogen production technologies
4 Hydrogen Deployment Sites across Košice Region, strategically connecting industry and transport hubs
Cross-border Connection with Ukraine for renewable hydrogen integration and energy solidarity
Hydrogen-Powered Applications: Buses, Garbage Truck, Touristic Boat & Cutting-Edge VTOL Aviation
