They discussed how to make the global hydrogen economy efficient, scalable, and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Produced by the <a href=\"https:\/\/hydrogenireland.org\/about\/\"><strong>Hydrogen Ireland (H2IRL)<\/strong><\/a> in collaboration with the <strong>International Association for<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iahe.org\/\"><strong>Hydrogen Energy (IAHE)<\/strong><\/a>, the event brought together <strong>hundreds of participants<\/strong>. From policymakers and scientists to business leaders and investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>With an audience representing more than <strong>40 countries<\/strong>, WHTC is recognised as one of the world\u2019s most influential hydrogen conventions. Shaping both policy and innovation directions for the coming decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over three days, the convention presented <strong>scientific sessions, policy panels, and industry showcases<\/strong>. Focusing on the economic, environmental, technological, and legislative aspects of hydrogen deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Discussions explored how hydrogen can be produced, distributed, and used efficiently across multiple sectors. From heavy industry and energy storage to transport and data infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"977\" height=\"297\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eastgateh2v.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-858\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eastgateh2v.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image.png 977w, https:\/\/www.eastgateh2v.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-300x91.png 300w, https:\/\/www.eastgateh2v.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-768x233.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 977px) 100vw, 977px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, <strong>two project partners of EASTGATEH2V<\/strong> \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hy-energy.co.uk\/\"><strong>HyEnergy Consultancy Limited<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ise.fraunhofer.de\/en.html\"><strong>Fraunhofer ISE<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 took part in the event, representing the project and sharing experiences from real-world hydrogen valley initiatives across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leading voices shaping Europe\u2019s hydrogen future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme featured an impressive line-up of speakers, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/timmy-dooley-55b01815\/\"><strong>Timmy Dooley TD<\/strong><\/a>, Minister of State at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ie\/en\/department-of-climate-energy-and-the-environment\/\">Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dr-ayfer-veziroglu-8662a324\/\"><strong>Dr. Ayfer Veziroglu<\/strong><\/a>, President of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iahe.org\/\">International Association for Hydrogen Energy<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/chatzimarkakis\/\"><strong>Jorgo Chatzimarkakis<\/strong><\/a>, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/hydrogeneurope.eu\/\">Hydrogen Europe<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/stephanie-mudd\/\"><strong>Stephanie Mudd<\/strong><\/a>, Deputy Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mission-innovation.net\/missions\/hydrogen\/\">Clean Hydrogen Mission<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/brian-mullins-956434207\/\"><strong>Brian Mullins<\/strong><\/a>, Hydrogen Programme Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasnetworks.ie\/\">Gas Networks Ireland<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aliciaeastman\/\"><strong>Alicia Eastman<\/strong><\/a>, Managing Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apcinvestors.com\/\">APC Investors<\/a> and Co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/intercontinentalenergy.com\/\">InterContinental Energy<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/robertjhevers\/\"><strong>Robert Evers<\/strong><\/a>, Senior Advisor at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasunie.nl\/en\">Gasunie<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/paul-mccormack-80354a13\/\"><strong>Paul McCormack<\/strong><\/a>, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/hydrogenireland.org\/\">Hydrogen Ireland<\/a> and Chair of WHTC 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And many others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lessons from six Hydrogen Valleys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the most insightful sessions was <strong>\u201cHydrogen Valleys: Lessons from Six Projects\u201d<\/strong>, delivered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ian-williamson-5a163010\/\"><strong>Ian Williamson<\/strong><\/a>, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hy-energy.co.uk\/\"><strong>HyEnergy Consultancy Limited<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 a project partner of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastgateh2v.eu\/sk\/\"><strong>EASTGATEH2V<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian Williamson presented case studies from six major European hydrogen valleys, each demonstrating how regional ecosystems are integrating renewable energy production, hydrogen generation, and industrial use.<br>His presentation offered an honest look at both the opportunities and challenges of scaling hydrogen systems \u2014 from infrastructure financing to long-term operational costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The message resonated throughout the conference:<br><em>\u201cHydrogen valleys are where ambition meets implementation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the examples, <strong>EASTGATEH2V<\/strong> was highlighted as a <strong>reference point for Central and Eastern Europe<\/strong>. Showing how coordinated regional efforts can deliver tangible results and accelerate Europe\u2019s energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our second partner also took part in the event. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/christoph-hank-dr-ing-57ba72a8\/\"><strong>Christoph Hank<\/strong>,<\/a> Team Lead at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ise.fraunhofer.de\/en.html\">Fraunhofer ISE<\/a> presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ise.fraunhofer.de\/en\/research-projects\/hyreland.html\"><strong>HYreland Project<\/strong><\/a>, which explores cross-border cooperation in renewable hydrogen systems focused on Ireland and Germany.
