EASTGATEH2V published its first newsletter in October 2026, bringing the latest updates on the development of Slovakia’s first fully integrated Hydrogen Valley, recent project activities and collaboration among partners building a regional hydrogen ecosystem in the Košice region.
EASTGATEH2V is gradually turning the vision of a regional hydrogen ecosystem into practical solutions. The project aims to connect renewable hydrogen production with its distribution and real-world applications in transport, industry, tourism and aviation.
At the heart of the project is a planned 4 MW electrolyser capacity and four deployment sites across the Košice region. EASTGATEH2V also supports international cooperation and the development of hydrogen infrastructure across Central Europe.
What’s Inside the First Issue?
The first edition introduces EASTGATEH2V, its main objectives and planned milestones. It also highlights key developments, events and activities from recent months.
The newsletter features insights from H2SK Forum 2026 in Košice, which brought together policymakers, industry representatives, researchers and hydrogen experts to discuss the future of hydrogen in Slovakia and across Europe.
It also covers the project’s participation in Hydrogen Valleys Days 2026 in Antwerp and the consortium meeting held in Košice in June. These events provided valuable opportunities to exchange experiences, review project progress and strengthen international collaboration.
Another highlight is the Partner Spotlight section, dedicated to introducing the organisations behind EASTGATEH2V and their contributions to the project. The first issue features the Košice Self-governing Region, the project coordinator, and the Slovak National Hydrogen Association (NVAS).
